Day 1, the ride has just begun!

Heavy overnight rain in Dubbo had everyone a bit nervous, however the clouds parted, and we left the Macquarie Home Stay riding into goldilocks weather conditions. There were plenty of puddles and a bit of water across the Mogriguy Road and plenty of wet paddocks on the way to Eumungerie. We then pushed on to the city of windmills where we were met by the enthusiastic people at Gilgandra Toyota get that 'Feeling' back! We then left the more alpine roads behind and headed into the flood plain flats that we will be on till Saturday, we then rode onto Gular for lunch for a top shelf steak sandwich thanks to the Gular Lions Club (wraps are good, steaks better!).

A couple of flat tyres put a small delay on proceedings and the afternoon predictably warmed up for a hot finish into Coonamble. The stop at the Visitors Centre and an obligatory photo in front of the water tower was cut short as hot and thirsty riders scattered to explore Coonamble. Riders headed to the Museum under the Bridge, the Nick Name Hall of Fame, the pool and a couple of stalwarts may have even paid a visit to the historic Terminus Hotel for a refreshment.

Off to Walgett tomorrow!
